Competitions

The Public Policy Club has hosted several competitions in the years since its establishment. These have included the Policy Brief Competition, the 2020 Youth Voters Election Competition, the PPC x Auckland Council Case Competition and the Social Hackathon that we did in collaboration with Social Innovation New Zealand. This year is no different.

Semester One

Policy Brief
This competition is the PPC classic. Applicants will be given a dossier with basic information on the policy brief topic. Working alone or in pairs, the student submits a Brief that professionals will judge. Additionally, we host a workshop on the basics of writing a good policy brief.
Prizes include money, publication and certificate.

Op-ed Competiton
Applicants will write an informative journalistic piece on a policy they find interesting. Judged by journalism professionals, the winner (and possibly runnerup) will then work with the professional to create an op-ed piece.
Prizes include money, publication and certificate.

Semester Two
